Currently, ALA offers four different professional certifications, including Lighting Associate, Lighting Specialist, Certified Lighting Manufacturer Representative and Certified Lighting Consultant. CertificationsĪLA's professional certifications provide members with the opportunity to demonstrate their extensive industry knowledge to their peers and customers alike. The courses are updated throughout the year and cover a variety of topics. Individual programs offer degrees at bachelors, masters or doctoral levels as well as certificates and minors in architectural lighting design. These schools have a minimum of one instructor or professor who devotes the majority of their time to lighting design.
